Music has long been central to my work, particularly composition, improvisation and the encounter between different musical traditions. Alongside it, I work with images, film and text, exploring questions that sometimes begin in sound and find another form elsewhere.

I am interested in the relationships between artistic forms, but also between people, places and histories. Some projects grow out of collaboration; others begin with a small observation, a musical idea or an image that stays with me. Each medium offers a different way of approaching what I want to understand or express.
